The ceremony of opening of the final stage of the first International Financial Security Olympiad was held at the "Sirius" educational center (Sochi, Russia) on October 4, 2021. Aide to the President of Russia A. Seryshev read out President Putin s welcome speech to the Olympiad participants:
"Dear friends, I would like to greet you in Sochi at the final stage of the International Financial Security Olympiad, which united pupils and students from different countries by its relevant and time-sensitive goals.
Today the world is changing rapidly. Technology is improving; modern advanced scientific and educational disciplines are emerging. In this regard, we pay priority attention to creating in Russia a wide range of opportunities for personal fulfillment of young people, as well as to gaining new skills, knowledge and expertise. The Olympiad is part of this much-needed, comprehensive work aimed at improving information, financial and legal literacy among the younger generation and preventing crime and extremism. These tasks are essential to ensure security and effective protection of the legal rights of citizens. That is why your project was supported by domestic, foreign, and international specialized organizations, and attracted a lot of expert and public interest.
I am sure that the Olympiad will be a successful and memorable event for all participants and, of course, for the finalists, who have gathered these days at the famous "Sirius" center.

The participants received words of support in the form of video messages from representatives of such international organizations as the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the Council of the Europe s Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures (MONEYVAL), and the UNSC Counter-Terrorism Committee.
At the end of the ceremonial part, the head of the financial intelligence unit of Russia Yury Chikhanchin declared open the first International Financial Security Olympiad.
