The Law Enforcement Academy under the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Date of joining the International Network AML/CFT Institute: June 8, 2021 (Protocol of Accession).

The Law Enforcement Academy under the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the Academy) was established by Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on May 4, 2015 No. 15 and is an educational organization with a special status.

This gives the right to independently determine the content of training programs and the organization of educational activities.

Today, the Academy has passed the period of formation, significant work has been done.

Licenses were obtained for the right to carry out educational activities in postgraduate education programs (master's and doctoral studies) in the specialties "Law Enforcement" and "Jurisprudence".

In order to ensure the effectiveness of activities, consultative and advisory, collegiate management bodies (Scientific, Educational and Methodological, Dissertation, Scientific and Methodological Councils) have been created.

In 2017, the Academy was accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science as a subject of scientific and technical activities, in 2018, independent institutional accreditation in terms of the quality of education provided.

Also in 2018, the status of the base organization of the CIS member states for advanced training and retraining of personnel for tax (financial) investigations was obtained.

The staff of the Academy is formed by experienced teaching staff, more than a third of them have academic titles and degrees. In addition, the academic potential is strengthened by practitioners with rich work experience in the central and regional offices of law enforcement agencies.

The Academy has 4 main tasks:

FIRST. Increasing the professional level of law enforcement officers.

SECOND. Coordination and conduct of interdepartmental scientific research in the field of law enforcement.

THIRD. Implementation of postgraduate education programs.

FOURTH, starting from 2020, the Academy has been entrusted with the function of initial professional training of persons entering the law enforcement service for the first time.
