Orel State University Named after Turgenev
Date of joining the International Network AML/CFT Institute: June 10, 2021 (Protocol of Accession).
Orel State University named after Turgenev is the largest higher education institution in Orel region. It is a unique regional multidisciplinary center that conducts continuous training of specialists of all levels in the fields of pedagogy, engineering, medical technology, natural science and humanities.
In 2019, the University celebrated its 100th anniversary. Over its century-long period, the University evolved in line with the course of the Russian history.
In 2021, Orel State University joined the “Priority 2030” program launched by the Russian Government in order to support the Russian universities. This program is aimed at creation of progressive modern universities – centers of scientific knowledge, technology and social economic development in line with the country’s social and economic needs.
Today, Orel State University is a backbone institution in the region with over 18 thousand students and employees.
The University comprises 22 institutes and faculties, 3 branches and 2 secondary general-education gymnasiums. Orel State University has a developed infrastructure which includes 12 academic buildings, 10 student dormitories, fitness center with swimming pool and indoor skating rink, fundamental library, outpatient clinic for students and resort. The University infrastructure and technical resources provide for comfortable training and development of full-time and part-time students.
Specialists in economic security are trained at the “Economics, Finance and Accounting” Department of the University.
