The Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia was established on February 5, 1960 by the Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and the USSR Council of Ministers. On February 22, 1961, the University was named after Patrice Lumumba — one of the symbols of the African peoples’ fight for independence.
Students and academics could be free to pursue their learning, teaching, and research activities without being subject to political context, but firmly directed to the grand principles of friendship and mutual support.
On February 5, 1992, by the decision of the Government of Russia, the University was renamed the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.
The AML/CFT training programs are available at the Institute of Law. The Master of Law Program and the Legal Regulation of Financial Monitoring and Compliance System Program are currently implemented at the University.
At present, 22 students undergo training under the Legal Regulation of Financial Monitoring and Compliance System Program, 9 of whom will graduate in 2022.
